The sort of person who is flexible, open to change, and a good communicator. Those are the people who stick around and get the most from it. I have been promoted twice since I arrived 2 years ago.
The Keyholding Company put me through SIA training when I arrived. That’s a qualification I can take with me wherever I go from here.
Our accreditation schemeThey make sure I am using the app on every job correctly. This was a bit tricky to begin with but now I understand how helpful it is for this information to be recorded accurately. Our client reports are great. The app lets me enter notes so I can make sure the client is made aware of certain things, which might not be directly related to the job in hand.
They also keen we get to a response job in good time. This means driving quickly (but safely!) through London to get to where we need to go.
A typical day or night might involve attending several alarm. We never know what we might be faced with when we arrive. The team back at base are really supportive. I follow the protocol on the app. It tells me everything I need to know about the property – how to get in, what to be wary of, alarm codes etc. Usually I am able to confirm it’s a false alarm. But sometimes it’s not. That can be tough but we are trained to handle it. It’s important work. I feel proud to do it.
